3D MODELLING

3D MODELLING

At this session Jay showed us how to create a 3D model in Cinema 4D. Using his model sheet, we went on to cinema 4d to begin the process.

After we placed our figure in cinema 4d we created a rectangle shape and placed it in the center of the character and cut it in half, so we can later on start forming the torso, legs, hands and head.

We started off with the legs, so with the live selection took we selected the rectangle on the bottom of the shape to extrude it downwards and the we twigged it until it took the shape we wanted it to take,

Afterwards, we created the torso, neck and head by extruding 5 different octagons. Using the Subdivision Surface we smoothed the edges and playes around with the cornes until we were satisfied with the shape we wanted to achieve.

At first, I found it really heard to keep up with what Jay was saying and understanding the process but later on, after a lot of times that we had to do the same thing, I finally picked up on it and started to do things on my own. It was a fun session but it needs a lot of work and focus.
